SKRIPSI : HUBUNGAN PENGETAHUAN TENTANG TUBERKULOSIS, EFEK SAMPING OBAT ANTI TUBERKULOSIS (OAT) DAN PERAN PENGAWAS MENELAN OBAT (PMO) DENGAN KEPATUHAN BEROBAT PASIEN TUBERKULOSIS PARU DI BALAI BESAR KESEHATAN PARU MASYARAKAT MAKASSAR TAHUN 2016



Background: Pulmonary tuberculosis (TBC) is still a major problem of public health and
globally remains a global health issue in all countries. Based on the annual report of the
World Health Organization, there are 22 countries with a High Burden of TBC Number’s
category against tuberculosis. As much as 8.9 million people with tuberculosis in 80%
proportion in 22 developing countries with 3 million people dies per year, and one person can
be infected with TBC every second. Now, Indonesia has the fifth ranks of the country with
the highest TBC burden in the world. The treatment compliance of pulmonary tubercular
patient is very valuable that the world is on the track to achieve the Millennium Development
Goals (MDGs)
Method: This research was done at the BBKPM, Makassar. This study used a cross-sectional
study design with 35 respondents selected as the study sample. This study was conducted in
February 2016. Data analyses that use in this study are univariate analysis and bivariate
analysis.
Result: The Research result in statistic test shows that there was relation between the
pulmonary tuberculosis patient’s knowledge with his/her treatment compliance [P value =
0,008 (p0,05)], and there was no relation between the
treatment supporter’s role with his/her treatment compliance [P value = 0,0679 (p>0,05)].
Conclusion: There is a correlation between the pulmonary tuberculosis patient’s knowledge
with his/her treatment compliance. There is no correlation between anti-tubercular drug’s side
effect and the treatment supporter’s role with his/her treatment compliance.
